PATNA: Narayan Singh Kushwaha, a minister in the Shivraj Singh Chauhan-led BJP government in Madhya Pradesh (MP), said here on Thursday that the people of Kushwaha caste should get "adequate" tickets from the state BJP to contest the elections to the state assembly.
ReplyDeleteKushwaha, who is also the president of All-India Kushwaha Mahasabha, was on a two-day visit to the state to participate in the meeting of the state unit of the mahasabha held on Wednesday.
"I appeal to all the political parties to give sufficient number of tickets to the people of this caste as per their strength," he said, adding that the BJP would also be considerate about it. He was accompanied by Satyendra Kushwaha, a BJP leader who has been actively demanding sufficient number of tickets and political representation to the people of his caste within the state BJP.
The MP minister said the executive committee of the state unit of the Kushwaha Mahasabha had been dissolved because no elections had been held in the past 12 years. The new election to elect its office bearers would be held in February, the minister said.
PATNA: The occasion was Shahid Jagdeo's (referred to as "Bihar's Lenin") birth anniversary but it adopted a political hue as the "martyr" was almost forgotten in the rhetoric of political wannabes and their leaders. All that he received was one-liners as tribute to fulfil the formality of the event.
ReplyDeleteThe Kushwaha Mahasabha, which organised the function at the SK Memorial Hall here on Monday, used it to express its confidence in the Janata Dal(U) and its leadership. Railway minister Nitish Kumar was hailed as the would be chief minister of Bihar. The people who had gathered were asked to vote for the JD(U) in totality and to help overthrow the RJD-led government.
Nitish utilised the opportunity to lash out at his adversaries in power in the state. He said the Bihar government has brought the state to a low level. "There is no opportunity for quality education and employment here. For the last 14 years, the power has been concentrated in one hand, which needs to be changed," he observed, adding, "Bihar has the strength and the power to outshine others. Only an able leadership can provide it its due status."
Taking a dig at the supporters of the ruling party president, he said people continue to support the party even after being insulted at 1, Anne Marg. "Chakri karna ho to RJD mein rahiye. Netritva karna ho to JD(U) mein," he maintained, adding that people sacrifice their self-respect to remain associated with those in power.
Union food minister Sharad Yadav said the people who are spreading darkness everywhere in the state even while carrying their lanterns need to be removed from power. "Bihar ko apne kabje mein lena hai," he asserted.
Leader of the JD(U) legislature party in the state assembly Upendra Kushwaha said Bihar needs a makeover, which would be possible only with the overthrow of the present government.
JD(U) MLA Bhagwan Singh Kushwaha alleged that 175 people of "Kushwaha samaaj" have been killed by the goons associated with the RJD and 500 people have been framed in false cases in the last 14 years, adding that Laloo Prasad Yadav's ouster from power is certain. "Lalooji jayenge. Nitish Kumar aayenge," he said.
But the support to JD(U) was not for free. As president of the Kushwaha Mahasabha Indraraj Singh Saini, without mincing words, said, "The Kushwaha samaaj will walk shoulder to shoulder with the JD(U) only if Kushwahas are given tickets in the coming elections. If not, we will think that we are being ignored.
"The Kushwaha samaaj has a population of 12 to 13 crore in India but it does not have the requisite representation in Parliament and state legislatures."
Also present were state JD(U) president Vijendra Prasad Yadav and president of the Bihar Pradesh Kushwaha Mahasabha C P Sinha.
Meanwhile, at the state government function held at Chitkohra Chowk, Prasad's statue was profusely garlanded by governor M Rama Jois, chief minister Rabri Devi and other ministers and legislators.
Members and office-bearers of the Manwadhikar Sanrakshan Pratisthan under the leadership of Rajendra Choudhary paid floral tributes to Prasad. Kurmi-Koiri (Luv-Kush) Chetna Manch also observed the martyrdom day. Janhit Party, Bihar, celebrated the day as "Chetna Diwas". A procession under the leadership of its president, Narendra Singh Kushwaha, was also taken out. The function organised by Jagdeo Foundation was inaugurated by jail minister Basawan Prasad Bhagat.
सीहोर & भागवान राम के अश्वमेघ यज्ञ का घोड़ा पकडऩे वाले लव और कुश की सवारी धूमधाम से निकाली गई। कुशवाहा समाज द्वारा निकाले गए चल समारोह में भगवान लवकुश की झांकी को मनमोहक रुप से घोड़े के साथ सजाकर निकाला गया। लव कुश जयंती पर गुरुवार को कुशवाहा समाज द्वारा चल समारोह निकाला गया। चल समारोह दोपहर 12 बजे से भोपाल नाका स्थित कुशवाहा हनुमान मंदिर से शुरु हुआ, जो शहर के विभिन्न मार्गोंं से होकर सुंदर गार्डन पहुंचा। यहां पर चल समारोह का समापन हुआ। चल समारोह में डीजे की धुन पर समाज के युवा झूमते हुए चल रहे थे। समारोह में भगवान लवकुश की मनमोहक झांकियां सजाई गई थीं। इसके अलावा समारोह में युवाओं की टोली हैरतअंगेज करतब दिखाते हुए चल रहे थे। वहीं सबसे पीछे बड़ी संख्या में महिलाएं भगवान लवकुश के जयघोष करते चल रहीं थीं। इस दौरान कई स्थानों पर चल समारोह का स्वागत किया गया। चल समारोह में पिछड़ा वर्ग आयोग के अध्यक्ष बाबूलाल भानपुरा, किशोरी लाल पटेल, अयोध्या प्रसाद कुशवाहा, अध्यक्ष कुशवाह महासभा रामेश्वर जी कुशवाह इंदौर,
